According to Nyoman Suada, an attendant in the nature tourism area, the old grandfather was believed to be a resident (of spiritual realm) in the Suwung Deluang Temple. The temple, estimated to have been hundreds of years old, was used to venerate Lord Dalem Sakti. “In addition to be sacred, the temple is also known to be haunted,” he said.

Local people believe if this old temple is very sacred and plays an important role in maintaining the region.
Other than members of the four groups (Deluang Sari, Mooncot, Bulih Bali and Lecceria) in charge of taking care of the turtle and the mangrove forest tourist area, many Tanjung Benoa residents and community from outside Badung also pray in the temple. They come on piodalan or temple anniversary falling on Anggarakasih Tambir. Beyond the temple ceremony, people also worship on full moon and new moon to invoke safety.
